FORECAST FOR HIGH WINDS LEADS LAUREL TO MOVE FRIDAY CARD TO MONDAY

A strong storm that is forecast to bring rain and high winds to the region has led Laurel Park to cancel live racing for Friday, March 2.

The Friday program, however, will be brought back in its entirety Monday, March 5. Horsemen don’t need to re-enter for Monday. Post time Monday will be the usual 12:30 p.m. Laurel will remain open Friday for full-card simulcasts.

The latest forecast for central Maryland indicates a high wind warning is in effect for 3 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday. Winds from the northwest are expected to be 25-35 miles per hour with gusts up to 60 miles per hour. Rain is expected to continue most of Friday.
