Beyond The Wire REMINDER
Beyond The Wire, Maryland’s Thoroughbred aftercare program, reminds trainers of the process and protocol when they use the program to help place retired racehorses at Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance-accredited partner facilities.
Trainers are asked to send current Coggins test results and foal papers if they exist with the shipper for all retirees through Beyond The Wire. The time before placement in the program may vary, so trainers should continue regular care as if horses were still in training. It is important that horses headed to the partner farms are in the best condition possible.
The average cost to put a horse through the program is $2,600. Donations are always appreciated.
