Conditions changed for pair of Maryland Million starter handicaps

Horsemen are advised of a change in the conditions for a pair of starter handicap events scheduled for the Maryland Million, which this year is slated for Saturday, Oct. 12, at Laurel Park.
The two seven-furlong starter handicaps that traditionally have been for horses that have started for a claiming price of $10,000 or less will now be for horses that have started for a claiming price of $12,500 or less. One is for 3-year-olds and up and the other for 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, and each carries a purse of $40,000.
There is no change in the conditions for the two $50,000 starter handicaps at 1 1/16 miles on turf, one for 3-year-olds and up and one for 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares. They are both for horses that have started for a claiming price of $16,000 or less.
