The online Injury Reporting Form, introduced in Maryland in the spring, remains an important component of the overall focus on equine health and welfare and the safety of racing surfaces.

When it was launched, the Injury Reporting Form was designed to provide the Maryland Racing Commission and Maryland Jockey Club with realtime data with the goal of rapidly responding to racing surface issues when they crop up. It was later updated based on feedback from users.
