Mobile Dentist Secures Future Under New Owners

The Mobile Dentist, which had previously announced plans to close following the retirement of its founders, will remain in operation thanks to its recent acquisition by Continuum Smiles.
This exciting development ensures that the Mobile Dentist—already a valued partner of the Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association (MTHA)—will continue to provide much-needed dental care to Maryland’s backstretch community. The program, which has served more than 80 individuals during prior visits to Laurel Park, was originally revived in 2024 through a community grant from Anne Arundel County.
With the stability and resources provided by Continuum Smiles, the Mobile Dentist team has confirmed that its services are here to stay.
“With the support and resources of Continuum Smiles, we’re here to stay and continue delivering the high-quality dental service and support you’ve come to expect,” said Perween E. Torres, CDA, COA, Managing Director of Continuum Smiles.
The MTHA is currently working with the Mobile Dentist to schedule new visit dates at Laurel Park, with details to be announced as soon as they are finalized and funding secured.
As with past visits, priority will be given to individuals residing in the Laurel Park dormitories and those with limited transportation options. Pre-registration will continue to be required. For more information, or to register in advance, please contact Diana Pinones.
