Mobile Dentist To Return To Laurel Park In October
The Mobile Dentist, which visited Laurel Park regularly in parts of 2021 and 2022, will be returning to the track later this fall.
The Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association a few years ago arranged for the Silver Spring, Md.-based Mobile Dentist to bring its services to the backstretch community. More than 80 people took advantage of the opportunity.
The return of Mobile Dentist is being facilitated by an Anne Arundel County community grant the MTHA successfully obtained on behalf of the Maryland Horsemen’s Assistance Foundation earlier this year. The funds are dedicated only for Mobile Dentist visits.
The MTHA hopes to finalize a schedule in September so appointments can begin for late October. The initial focus will be on individuals who reside in dormitories in the Laurel Park stable area and may not have transportation options. As was the case in 2021-22, Mobile Dentist is planning to come to Laurel on Mondays to perform dental services.
The Mobile Dentist provides services to residents in nursing homes, military bases, senior living communities, assisted living facilities and any group that requires on-site dental care. Mobile Dentist founder Dr. Robert Mantoni and his staff have delivered quality comprehensive general dental care to the Maryland National Guard, Montgomery County Homeless Shelters, the Mission of Mercy project, Afghan Operation Allies Welcome, and the Armed Forces Retirement Home.
The Mobile Dentist is a complete dual operatory dental office. All general dental services can be provided by this state-of-the-art 30-foot custom-built coach that can provide onsite comprehensive dental treatment using onboard generators, compressors and completely equipped dental operatories.
Services include dental examinations, routine teeth cleanings, fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals and tooth extractions. Dentures are not available.
Anyone who uses the service must complete registration paperwork in advance, which was the case in 2021-22. More information and finalized dates will be available in the near future.
