MTHA Announces Return of Mobile Dentist Program at Laurel Park

The Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association (MTHA) is pleased to announce plans to restart its highly successful Mobile Dentist program this spring, bringing essential dental care directly back to the Maryland horsemen’s community at Laurel Park.
Professional dental services will be provided free of charge and will be available to all backstretch horsemen working at Laurel Park, including trainers.
The return of this important program is made possible through a partnership with the Laurel Multiservice Center, which is providing funding support to help restore and expand critical benevolence community services for the backstretch population.
The Mobile Dentist—based in Silver Spring—delivers comprehensive, portable dental care directly to the backstretch, eliminating many of the barriers that horsemen face in accessing treatment. Services are offered in both English and Spanish and include:
- Cleanings
- X-rays
- Fillings
- Root canals
- Dentures
- Extractions
- And more
By bringing full-service dental care on-site, the program ensures that horsemen can receive timely, professional treatment without having to leave the grounds or navigate transportation challenges.
The Mobile Dentist program has long been regarded as one of MTHA’s most impactful and widely utilized community services. Its return marks a significant step forward in strengthening the health and well-being of Maryland’s backstretch community.
Specific dates for the Mobile Dentist’s upcoming visits are currently being finalized and will be announced shortly.
Horsemen are strongly encouraged to reserve their spot early, as space for the program is limited. To schedule an appointment or for additional information, please contact Diana Pinones at diana@mdhorsemen.com.
MTHA looks forward to welcoming the Mobile Dentist back to Laurel Park and continuing to provide meaningful, accessible care to the men and women who are essential to Maryland racing.
