Report Racetrack Surface Feedback
MTHA encourages all horsemen to promptly report any feedback involving the racing or training surfaces at Laurel Park by emailing trackissues@mdhorsemen.com.
This email address is monitored by key personnel from the The Maryland Jockey Club, MTHA and other appropriate stakeholders to ensure concerns are reviewed quickly and directed to the individuals responsible for evaluating and addressing them.
Whether you notice an area of the track that seems unusal, drainage concerns, inconsistent footing, or any other issue that could affect the safety of horses or riders, your report provides valuable information that helps identify trends and allows potential problems to be investigated as quickly as possible.
When submitting a report, please include as much detail as possible, including:
- Date and time the issue was observed
- Whether it occurred during training or racing
- The specific location on the track, if known
- A description of the concern
- Any photographs or videos, if available
Even if you’re unsure whether an issue is significant, it is still worth reporting. Multiple reports from different horsemen often help identify patterns that may not be apparent from a single observation.
The safety of our equine and human athletes depends on open communication. Prompt reporting allows track maintenance personnel and racing officials to evaluate concerns, take corrective action when appropriate, and maintain the safest possible racing and training environment.
If you observe a concern with the Laurel Park racing surface, please email trackissues@mdhorsemen.com as soon as possible. Every report matters and helps improve the safety of Maryland racing for everyone involved.
