MTHA to Continue Thanksgiving Meal Tradition for Laurel Park Backstretch

The Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association will once again provide free Thanksgiving meals for Laurel Park’s backstretch community on Thursday, November 26, 2026, with service from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This year’s event will be sponsored in part by Dan Eubanks’ Rising Sun Stables. MTHA is grateful for this generous support, which helps provide a holiday meal for backstretch workers and recognizes their dedication to Maryland racing.

Dan Eubanks' Rising Sun Stables generously sponsored the MTHA's annual Thanksgiving tradition.

Last Thanksgiving, more than 350 full turkey dinners were served at Laurel Park, offering workers a chance to enjoy a traditional holiday meal while tending to their daily responsibilities.

Caring for horses is a year-round commitment that continues through weekends and holidays. This annual tradition brings Thanksgiving to the backstretch and expresses the racing community’s appreciation for the people whose work makes the sport possible.
